Last week we ticked off a major summer bucketlist item: George’s Island. It’s one of the Boston Harbor Islands. Two years ago we visited Spectacle Island but George’s Island has Fort Warren. It’s full of history and a guided tour but most of all we enjoyed running through tunnels, up and down shadowy staircases.
First leg of the day is a 45 minute ferry across Boston Harbor. Lately I’ve gotten these amazing photos handing my camera to Eddie. He took this of Andy and me.
George’s Island is about 7 miles out from downtown Boston. You can see it off in the distance here.
I loved seeing them discover these shadows on the wall. So fun.
I kept looking for these little fleeting moments of the perfect silhouette. This one out the the jagged bricks of the fort was my favorite
We only needed about 2 hours there to explore and wanted to catch the next ferry back. A perfect opportunity to take off shoes and step into the water.
Awesome! ????
