Over the course of a 9 hour wedding day there was 20 minute drive in a town car that I’ll claim as my favorite part of the day. I’ll have to ask Liz & Mike what their favorite part was, but that was mine. We drove from the ceremony at Boston College’s St Ignatius Church to Hotel Marlowe in Cambridge, MA where the reception was taking place. There’s a light spirit in this little moment of the day. It’s the “OMG we’re married moment” and a sense of relief that the party can begin. It rained through the day but sunshine couldn’t have improved an already perfect day.
Some people do a “vintage inspired” wedding. This isn’t that sort of a wedding. It’s better!
You’ll notice Liz and Mike had a wedding that was a a true nod to family, tradition, and an appreciation of the past. There were a few very special “something old”s that were incorporated into the day.
Top of the list of “something old” was Liz’s wedding dress. Which was originally worn by Mike’s Grandmother AND Mother. Liz wore her Mother’s veil.
Why wouldn’t a bride get 4 umbrella held by two limo drivers. Liz’s Dad helps with the dress.
Again another quiet moment in the car. THIS has to be one of my favorite moments in all of 2013.
Loved the Hotel Marlowe for all of it’s color!!! Sure did brighten up a cloudy day!
Here are the Three Generations of the wedding dress! Beautiful!
