Turns out Meg & Will are my photography muses of 2017. When I was itching to photograph a new maternity session in the winter we created some new portraits in a greenhouse that was brimming with growth and life in all sorts of ways.
Today Will is five months old and a pro in front of the camera. Obviously, he gets daily training from his mom, a talented photographer herself.
We shot all of these in a simple studio session at my new Allston/Boston, MA space, Studio 52.
The simplicity is in the ease of t-shirts & jeans, Will in a onesie, sitting together on an applebox on a concrete floor. Meg played some Kenny Loggins from her cell phone and as friends we caught up about life a little between baby tickles.
2017 is all about “Back to Basics” and this, to me, is so beautifully basic.
Every day I set out to photograph my clients as I would my friends.
THIS is exactly the sort of session I’d love to do more of.
::pause for a second:: Look at that smolder!! Meg, you taught him well!
I told Meg I wouldn’t need to photograph her feet…. and then cuteness happens.
Any pro knows when the shoot is winding down – “No more smooches, Mom!”
These were some outtakes as I tried to get those delicious chubby legs in the air. Still keepers though.
